仏恩ふかく
おもいつつ
つねに弥陀を
念ずべし -
Reflecting deeply on the Buddha's benevolence,
let us think on Amida always.

無明の闇を
破するゆえ
智慧光仏と
なづけたり -
The light dispels the darkness of ignorance.
Thus,Amida is called "Boddha of the Light of Wisdom."

如来すなわち
涅槃なり
涅槃を仏性と
なづけたり -
Tathagata is none other than nirvana,
and nirvana is called Buddha-nature.
-
一念慶喜するひとは
往生かならず
さだまりぬ -
People who attain the one thought-moment of joy,
their birth becomes completely settled.

仏の御名を
きくひとは
ながく不退に
かなうなり - Those who hear the Buddha's Name attain forever the stage of nonretrogression.

大信心は
仏性なり
仏性すなわち
如来なり -
The great entrusting heart is itself Buddha-nature.
Buddha-nature is none other than Tathagata.

弥陀の回向成就して
往相・還相
ふたつなり -
Amida has fulfilled the directing of virtue, which has two aspects:
that for our going forth and that for our return.

功徳の宝海
みちみちて
煩悩の濁水
へだてなし -
The treasure ocean of virtues is overflowing, and for those who enter it,
the defiled waters of their blind passions not separated from it.

金剛心は菩提心
この心すなわち
他力なり -
The diamondlike mind is the mind aspiring for enlightenment,
and this mind is itself Other Power.

願力無窮に
ましませば
罪業深重も
おもからず -
The power of the Vow is without limit.
Thus, even our karmic evil, deep and heavy, is not oppressive.

ねてもさめてもへだてなく
南無阿弥陀仏を
となうべし -
All should say Namo Amida Butsu constantly,
whether they are awake or asleep.

信心の智慧に
いりてこそ
仏恩報ずる
身とはなれ -
It is by entering the wisdom of the entrusting heart
that we become persons who respond in gratitude to the Buddha's benevolence.

弥陀の回向の
御名なれば
功徳は十方に
みちたまう - Since the Name is directed by Amida, its virtues fill ten quarters.
